Chuck Norris: If Obama Is Reelected, It Could Bring About ‘One Thousand Years Of Darkness’

Last week’s impromptu speech by Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood at the Republican National Convention garnered a lot of attention, particularly for Eastwood going off-message in his improvised argument with a chair. Over the weekend, another conservative action star, Chuck Norris, released a YouTube video decidedly more on point about the choice in the presidential election. He and his wife speak out strongly against the reelection of President Obama, and use quotes attributed to Ronald Reagan to warn that not standing up against Obama’s agenda could bring about “one thousand years of darkness.”

Norris opens the video by warning that the United States is “under attack” and it could be “lost forever” if the country does not change course soon. He and his wife Gena make a direct appeal to Evangelical voters, millions of whom stayed home in 2008, to come out and vote against Obama. However, at no point in the video do either of them say specifically to support Mitt Romney in November.

The Norrises use quotes from Ronald Reagan to make the stakes in the 2012 election clear, highlighting this particular line.

“You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this last best hope for man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness.”
